Texas Rangers Bring Radio Rights in House and Team with Skyview Networks
Skyview to assist in all aspects of radio broadcast
PHOENIX, Ariz. (4/12/11) — Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Texas Rangers and Skyview Networks announced today their new radio broadcast partnership. Fresh off of a 2010 American League Championship, the Texas Rangers’ upcoming 2011 baseball season marks the first time in 27 years the franchise has brought its radio rights in house and the first year 103.3 FM ESPN and ESPN Deportes 1540 will serve as the English and the Spanish flagship stations respectively. The franchise has teamed with Skyview, an integrated professional sports distribution company specializing in play-by-play broadcast systems, for its English and Spanish broadcast distribution and inventory management needs.
“Skyview Networks has been invaluable in assisting the Texas Rangers in creating our in-house radio network,” commented club Executive VP, Communications John Blake. “We are able to provide a streamlined and efficient production and traffic system that has been incredibly well received by our expanded group of network stations. This has been a major project and Skyview Networks has been a great partner for us.”
Skyview will provide its Distribution Service, F.A.S.T Inventory Management Software and Live Read logging service. This package of broadcast services is integrated to provide efficient management and full control over every aspect of the radio broadcast to run a smooth operation: broadcast feed, inventory scheduling, avails reporting, as-played feedback, invoice generation and live read logging.
“This is a very exciting time for the Rangers and we are proud to be a part of their broadcast operation,” said Matt Stys, Vice President/Business Development of Skyview Networks. “With our services, I am confident the Rangers will experience a successful first season managing their rights from the broadcast booth to the sales and traffic departments. We look forward to working closely to ensure our services meet the needs of all aspects of the Rangers broadcast operation.”
