Candidate Interview Series to Air throughout 2010 Campaign Season on Arizona News Radio Network

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Kicking off a series of planned interviews with candidates for statewide office, Jeff Scott, News Director of Arizona News Radio, interviewed Senator John McCain in studio on current local and national issues as well as his re-election campaign. The interview series is part of Arizona News Radio’s ongoing comprehensive political coverage leading up to the November 2010 General Election airing in segments throughout the campaign season.

“Voters have many compelling decisions to make in 2010,” says Jeff Scott, Executive News Operations Director of Arizona News Radio and California Headline News. "In helping our listeners decide among candidates and issues, we plan to speak directly to the candidates and parties involved on a regular basis.”

The first of four segments aired June 4, 2010. Subjects included Arizona’s new immigration law, the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico, the Israeli and Turkish relief worker confrontation and Senator McCain’s ongoing campaign battle with former congressman JD Hayworth.

Scott will conduct similar interviews with other incumbent members of Congress and their opponents, including Senate candidate JD Hayworth. Both the Arizona and California News Radio Networks will provide extensive coverage of the November 2, 2010 General Election for participating affiliates.
